Tommy D, whose real name is Thomas Kaluba, is a Zambian rapper and songwriter born on August 28, 1984. He began his music career in 2006 and gained popularity with his 2007 debut album, Mafasho. His breakthrough came in 2012 with the hit song "Nicahaa," featuring Macky 2. Over the years, Tommy D has released several albums, including Masese, Mbasela, and Real Talk. In 2023, he released The Godfather, a 23-track album featuring collaborations with top Zambian artists like Slapdee, Yo Maps, and Mumba Yachi. The album achieved over one million streams on Boomplay within a week of its release . Known for his powerful lyrics and dedication to hip-hop, Tommy D is considered a pioneer in Zambia's rap scene.
