Jay Melody

Jay Melody, whose real name is Sharif Said Juma, is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter born on June 12, 1997, in Mwananyamala, Dar es Salaam. He discovered his love for music early and attended Muhalitani Primary School, then Bunju A Secondary School. In 2016, he joined the Tanzania House of Talent (THT) to develop his musical skills. Jay Melody released his first song, "Goroka," in 2018. He also wrote the hit "Kivuruge" for singer Nandy. His breakthrough came with the song "Nakupenda," which became one of Tanzania’s most-streamed songs. His music blends Afro-pop and Bongo Flava, touching on themes of love and life. Today, Jay Melody is one of East Africa’s rising music stars.
