Born Samuel Kaira, Smacks started active music as a backing vocalist for award winning afro- pop singer Dan Lufani under the Rockers Band. He travelled across the country performing with Dan Lu and his group for a year and in 2012, Smacks decided to go solo. His first recording was, “Ukawale” produced by Pon G at Weapons of Peace Records in Blantyre. “I left (Rockers Band) because they didn’t meet the conditions and terms we agreed, so I decided to quit and start my own thing,” explained the Blantyre based musician. Although he recorded his first song in 2012, Smacks who hails from Nthalire in the northern district of Chitipa started promoting the track in 2014, he worked with Sukez on the video which has been enjoying radio and television play. He went on to record three more tracks, “Heart Attack” “Tsala” and “Kusankha” produced by the country’s renowned producers Percy Manyozo under Pro Pee Records, Foxxy at Step Up Records and Stich Fray of D & T Records, respectively. Smacks 2014 collaboration with versatile singer Nepman took his music career to new level as the song, “Zakwathu” received great reception once it dropped. Apart from music, the multi-talented Smacks is also an active radio dramatist. Smacks shaken the world in 2016 after releasing a hit, “Undipweteka" in which he featured Blaze and its video released in 2017. He released, “Nangondo,” in 2018 and, “Ndimakusowa,” In 2018. Smacks dream to take music career across boarders and his music to be heard on the international scene has now finalised.
