America Pop Smoke was born Bashar Jackson on July 20, 1999, in Brooklyn, New York. He hailed from the residential neighborhood of Canarsie. Growing up, he had nicknames such as “Poppa†and “Smoke Oh Guap.†His moniker “Pop Smoke†was coined by fusing those two names together.
